According to the Human Society of the United States, 80-90% of owned dogs and cats in the United States are spayed and neutered, but the small percentage of animals that aren’t can lead to a big problem.

That proved true when L.I.F.E. House for Animals in Frankfort stepped in after getting a call in April about a house being overrun with dogs. Now, they’re stressing the importance of controlling the pet population.

There’s no place like home for the holidays, and you can help homeless animals in Frankfort find their forever homes in time for Christmas this year. We stopped by LIFEHouse for Animals to find out how you can quickly and easily get started fostering today.

We love a community partnership here at Around 10, and this holiday season Pourter’s, our newest downtown taproom, has partnered with LIFEHouse for Animals to host an Angel Tree for some of the adoptable dogs at LIFEHouse. We spoke with co-owner Tiffany Seppenfield this week to find out how to get involved. Like Tiffany said you can stop by Pourter’s Tuesday through Sunday to pick up a tag or drop off your gifts, and table reservations for their New Year’s Eve party are open now at pourters.com.
